RD1 Spirits KY Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished with French Oak 101 Proof

Regular price $69.99 Sale

Mash Bill: 70/21/9 Corn/Rye/Malted Barley

Source: Kentucky

Proof: 101 Proof

Tasting Notes: The nose has notes of rich caramel and butterscotch with chocolate almonds and a hint of a floral rose. The palate is very rich with developed flavors of chocolate and warm graham crackers that shift into aromatic allspice and raspberry fruit. This is deeply aromatic from the nose to finish and is a wonderful and smooth journey.

As we began our finishing process, we immediately fell in love with the French Oak. This became a hands-down favorite and we couldn't wait to release it for everyone to enjoy. We've taken our wonderful Kentucky Straight Bourbon and finished it with elegant French Oak rounding out the flavor experience and giving it a delicate profile.

About RD1: In 1865, the Ashland Distillery was established, the first to obtain a federally registered distillery license, and was assigned RD#1.
Located on Manchester Street at the city limits of Lexington, KY, today, the remains of the original distillery can be found at what is now the entrance to Lexington’s Distillery District. In 2021, the RD1 brand was reborn with the mission to bring a portfolio that embodies the spirit worthy of Lexington’s legendary whiskey heritage and what we now call Bluegrass Glory.

Kings County Distillery is New York City’s oldest operating whiskey distillery, the first since Prohibition. Founded in 2010, Kings County uses New York grain and traditional distilling equipment to produce whiskey in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, just steps from the former waterfront distillery district and the legendary site of the 1860s Brooklyn Whiskey Wars. Every drop the distillery sells is made in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
